Children's Circle Time Train Themed Music Movement
Do you have a child that loves trains? I have always had a special love of trains that started with my Dad's Lionel train set he would set up in our basement. I also enjoyed going to train shows with him and looking at the details miniature layouts that were built.
In this blog post I'm going to share some resources to create a circle time or train themed lesson plan.

Music Movement Train Time With a Stretchy Band
The connect-a-stretchy band is extra fun to use for a train themed music movement time. Since it can unbuckled and used straight, it makes it the perfect prop to make a train. You can let children take turns being the engineer of the train, playing follow the leader. I also like to have my kids be on the train, running the wheels with their arms. Here is a short playlist for a visual:

Children's Books on Trains
Here is list of book suggestions:
"The Little Engine That Could"
"I'm Taking a Trip On My Train"
Barefoot Book's "Magic Train Ride"
After reading some books, here is a great list of 50 crafts and activities that Mandisa at Happy Toddler PlayTime pulled together.
I also found this great healthy snack idea to end your Circle Time. You could prepare this ahead of time, but I also think it would be great to have the kids help out with it.
