"Old Brass Wagon" is one of my favorite folk songs to use with Elementary School students! Your suggestion to use the stretchy-band for this song is perfect for my K students as we work on directionality and feeling steady beat! Thanks! I have used "Old Brass Wagon" as a folk dance with Gr4. Bringing out the stretchy band could engage students who are less comfortable with movement activities at that level, providing them with a focus that distracts from social inhibitions and connects them without direct physical contact with peers!
